The Mexico Institute has played a key role in bringing together organizations in Mexico and the U.S. dedicated to philanthropy and promoting its development for Mexicans in the United States and in Mexico. In 2001, the Mexico/Texas Civil Society Alliance comprises The RGK Center for Philanthropy at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas in Austin; the Meadows Foundation; and the University of Puebla and created the first School of Philanthropy. The Institute participates with The Chiapas Project and with Helping Hands Medical Missions and other organizations.
